Looking for something similar to an older game or maybe an updated engine for a game you own?
If you are like me you might like to play all those older games from your youth. My gaming adventures span the eighties and nineties, with a few from the early two thousands. Thanks to GOG and Lutris I own all my old RPG favorites and play them easily on Linux. Thanks to all those folks for making my gaming life easier.
Most games just work and many work very well but some games had issues originally, have vanished, or simply haven’t aged well. Thankfully, there are people smarter than me who rewrite engines, create similar games, port, or just rewrite\update the games themselves where possible.
I originally was going to write a post about these engine rewrites, like OpenMW, Doomsday Engine, and Arx Libertatis, but in doing the research for the games I don’t play I found a resource already exists. Actually, two.
